Everything You're Wondering: From "Can This Help My Stress?" to Booking Details
You've got a real question, not a generic one: "will this actually help", "what do I wear", "can I cancel". Whatever brought you here, the answer is probably already below.
General
Yes. Hatha Yoga is designed as a gentle entry point: simple postures, conscious breathing and a slow pace, with no prerequisites. It is the recommended starting point if you have never practised.
Mindfulness Meditation is one of the simplest ways to relax without any equipment: a few minutes of breathing and observing are enough to calm a mind that goes round in circles. Our sessions take place in Fond du Sac, Mauritius, in small groups or one to one.
The simplest way is to choose by what your body needs today: move and breathe (yoga), stop and observe (meditation), or let the sound carry you (Tibetan singing bowl sound bath). All our sessions are open to beginners, with no prior experience.
Yes: Pranayama & Breathwork sessions teach specific breathing techniques you can use to slow down and settle, so you leave with tools you can use on your own between sessions. Slow breathing is a simple way to settle when you feel tense, because you work with your breath, not just your thoughts.
A Tibetan singing bowl sound bath gives you an hour to stop and listen, with nothing to do. It’s fully passive, ideal on the days you’re too tired to “do” anything else.
Tension from work often lodges in the shoulders, jaw and breath. Kundalini Yoga targets exactly that, combining dynamic movement and breathwork to release stress physically, not just mentally. Sessions are beginner-friendly and take about an hour.
Arna Holistic Wellness is a wellness centre founded in 2024 and based in Fond du Sac, Pamplemousses, in Mauritius. We teach yoga, meditation, breathwork and sound baths, in private and group sessions and in certified teacher trainings, at different venues across the island. Every session is led by a certified teacher, and no prior experience is needed.
Absolutely not! We welcome guests of all experience levels, from complete beginners to advanced practitioners. Our instructors are skilled at adapting practices to meet you where you are. Whether it is your first yoga class or you have been practicing for years, you will find a welcoming and supportive environment at our sanctuary.
Sessions are led by named practitioners you can look up beforehand: Nivedita Bulluck, Arpit Agarwal, Damandeep Singh and Shravani, each certified in their specific practice (for example ICAHP) rather than treated as interchangeable instructors. Everything is 1:1 or small group, not a class schedule you fit yourself into.
Our office is in Fond du Sac, Pamplemousses, Mauritius. We do not have a fixed venue: sessions take place at different venues across the island, and the venue is confirmed when you send your booking request.
Courses
While we recommend a consistent yoga practice, our 200-hour training is designed for dedicated students who are passionate about deepening their practice. Most importantly, we seek individuals who are committed to personal growth and service to others. The most successful students approach the training with an open mind and willingness to learn.
Our Yoga Teacher Training focuses on asana (physical practice), teaching methodology, anatomy, and the business of teaching yoga. Our Meditation Teacher Training is specifically designed for those who wish to teach mindfulness and meditation practices, covering various meditation techniques, neuroscience of meditation, and how to guide others in contemplative practices. Both programs are comprehensive and independent of each other.
Our yoga teacher training programs are fully accredited by Yoga Alliance. Upon successful completion, you will receive a 200-hour or 500-hour Yoga Alliance Certified Teacher (YAC) designation. This certification is internationally recognized and allows you to teach anywhere in the world.
Services
Yoga Nidra, often called “yogic sleep,” is a guided meditation practice that takes you into a state of deep relaxation while maintaining full awareness. It is accessible to everyone, regardless of age or physical ability. Even if you struggle with traditional meditation or cannot sit still, Yoga Nidra can be practiced lying down and is suitable for all levels.
Both private and group sessions have their benefits:
- Private Sessions: Personalized attention, customized practice, flexible scheduling, ideal for beginners, specific goals, or a gentler pace.
- Group Sessions: Community atmosphere, atmosphere of practising with others, more affordable, scheduled class times, variety of class styles.
Many guests choose a combination of both during their stay with us.
Preparing for your first yoga class is simple:
- Arrive 10-15 minutes early to settle in
- Wear comfortable clothing that allows movement
- Bring a water bottle
- Eat lightly 1-2 hours before class
- Leave your expectations at the door
- Tell your instructor if you have any injuries or limitations
Most importantly, remember that yoga is not about perfection – it is about the journey of connecting with yourself.
A sound bath is a guided rest where you listen to Tibetan singing bowls, gongs and other instruments. Many people find it a calm way to pause. It is a wellness practice, not medical care.
Retreats
On our Nature’s Embrace retreat, mornings start with herbal tea and gentle Hatha yoga, followed by breakfast. The day mixes workshops (breathwork, journaling), a sound bath and yoga nidra, free time for rest or a nature walk, then a vegetarian dinner and an evening gathering. The full day-by-day schedule is on the retreat page.
Meals on our retreats are vegetarian: at Nature’s Embrace, breakfast, lunch and dinner, with herbal tea in the morning. Tell us about any dietary need when you send your booking request.
Health & Safety
Please inform us of any injury or physical limitation before your session. Our trained instructors can provide modifications and alternative poses to protect affected areas. For serious injuries, we recommend consulting with your healthcare provider first.
Please talk to your doctor or midwife before joining any session while you are pregnant, and tell us when you send your request. Our sessions are wellness experiences, not medical advice, so we cannot say what is suitable for your situation. Once your healthcare provider has agreed, we will talk with you about how the session can be adapted.
Some conditions may call for advice from your healthcare provider before you join a session. Please tell us about any chronic health condition, recent surgery, pregnancy, heart condition, epilepsy, mental health condition or physical limitation. Our sessions are wellness experiences, not medical care, and knowing more helps us discuss with you what may or may not suit you.
